For the RPP series why thermal impedance is better when mounted vertically rather than horizontally?
In vertical mounting the air flows under the converter so there is a chimney effect, in horizontal mounting there is very little movement of air under the converter. With standard converters the movement of air under the converter has little effect on the derating graph, but the RPP series sandwiches the transformer between the top and bottom of the case and uses both surfaces to transfer heat making it more noticeable.
